Every residential foundation in New Zealand has to meet NZ Building Code and be poured to an engineer’s drawings. In Tauranga that means understanding the ground you are working with as coastal soils across the Bay of Plenty can behave differently from one site to the next, and the base preparation has to reflect that. We compact to spec, place the reinforcing steel correctly, and pour to the drawings. When the building consent inspector arrives on site, the work holds up.

Tauranga City Council Requirements
New foundations in Tauranga require a building consent through Tauranga City Council before work begins. We work from the engineer’s drawings you supply. If your site falls outside the city boundary, Western Bay of Plenty District Council requirements apply instead.
